Reel Man Fishing Charters is based out of Cypremort Point and Pecan Island. Our goal is to give our guests a fun, friendly, safe fishing environment. The areas we fish, especially offshore, are different than most other areas in Louisiana. I have been asked numerous times why is it different. The main reason it's different is the areas we fish have less pressure from charter boats and rereactional fishermen. This gives us plenty of opportunity to catch bigger and more fish, because of this unique situation your experience with us will be one you will never forget.

We usually limit out on Red Snapper in a very short time. This gives you the opportunity to catch a lot of different types of fish by trolling with many different types of baits and using spin cast reels in the rips we will find. The areas we fish is truly a Sportsman Paradise and will keep you coming back to Reel Man Fishing Charters.

We offer walk-in rates for those customers that do not have a large group to come with. Captain Andre will work with you to pair walk-in customers together so everyone can enjoy a day of fishing at the walk-in rates instead of the group rates. For more information on walk-in rates look at our rates online or contact Captain Andre.

He has placed numerous times in the offshore division and runabout division for red snapper, ling, amberjack, king, grouper and trout. Captain Andre strives to make all of his guest happy by letting them catch as many fish as they can. Captain Andre pre fishes every year to find what area, rigs and structures are holding the fish, this way he does not waste much time getting to the fishing grounds that produce fish.

2012 Red Snapper Season Dates
June 1st, 2012 till July 10th, 2012

Red Snapper season has opened and we are racking up on some big Red Snapper. Some rigs are producing big Mangrove Snapper in large quantities so we have been catching our limits on Red Snapper then rigging up to catch Mangrove Snapper. We have also been able to find Lemon fish on almost every trip. This Friday June 15th has been the first day and it has been really calm and rips were starting to form but unfortunately we were not able to find a really good defined rip that we could troll if it would have stayed calmed like it was for 24 hours then some goods rips would have formed overnight but the wind has picked up and it looks like it will be rough through most of the week of June 18th. Hopefully it will lie down at the end of this week and I can get back out fishing.

The peak months for trout last year were the months of August and September but because of the river being so low this year the trout have started biting earlier than last year. Some trout are being caught inland and the reefs right now most of them are still at the rigs until they start spawning. The seas that NOAA is calling for this week will keep most sportsman off the water or in very protected inland waters until it passes.
